Pour one out for the Prosecco drinkers. Well, actually, there have already been plenty of bubbles wasted, as we can see from this viral footage of an Italian distillery’s sparkling wine, which exploded out of its giant fermentation silo in dramatic fashion.

According to video posted to Facebook in late September by L’Enoteca Zanardo Giussano, there was “too much in the silos” at the industrial Prosecco factory in Conegliano, in Italy’s northern Veneto region — and the resulting overflow wasted about 30 thousand liters of Prosecco, or about eight thousand gallons. Just think of all those tens of thousands of brunch mimosas down the drain. In the video footage, you can see the wine gushing over the top of the tall silo with a tractor dwarfed at its base, with a giant pool of Prosecco gathering at the bottom. Not much to celebrate about, despite the drink at hand in abundance. The clip of the vintner’s disaster has inspired strong emotions, however, with over a million views on Facebook ..

Celebrities usually hope they never become a meme, but Rihanna, ever the trend setter, is more than happy to turn herself into one.

On Instagram, the singer posted a photo of herself wiping sweat off her brow as a hoard of fans surround her. She wrote across the image “when your fans keep asking you for new music.” She continued the joke in the photo’s caption, noting, “I feel attacked. ***valley girl who’s never been attacked voice*** R9 chronicles.” If you haven’t been stalking Rihanna in real life or on social media in the hopes of hearing new music, the “R9 chronicles” refers to her reportedly forthcoming ninth album. It’s not coming quickly enough for her fans, though, who jumped into the Instagram comments to beg for updates or new tunes, with one fan writing, “Just give us what we want” and another promising, “We won’t let up until we get it! #savage.”

Fall has many charms: colorful changing leaves. Pumpkin spice lattes. Cozy sweaters. And Fat Bear Week, a competition hosted by Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska to determine just which of its many brown bears has been most successful at plumping up and gorging on salmon over the summer in preparation for five months of winter hibernation — and, of course, will win the important title of “Fattest Bear.”

Each day on the Katmai Facebook page, bears are matched in an extensive bracket. The bear with the most likes advances to the next round. Only one bear, by Oct. 9, will be crowned “Fattest Bear” for 2018; this is the fourth annual running of this competition. While Katmai is home to thousands of bears, only 12 get to be part of the Fat Bear Week bracket — because they’re known for loving the attention.
